다. 그 후 1990년부터 매우 다양한 컴퓨터 시스템을 지원하는 Mathematica가 나오게 되었다. Mathematica가 하는 일은 크게 세 가지로 나눌 수있다 수치계산(numerical computation), 기호계산(sysmbolic calculation), 그래픽 처리(graphical operation) 등이다. 특히, 기호 계산은 Mathematica의 가장 큰 강점이다.
